How it started
FranchiseAir was founded in 2005 by Tony Johnston and Tom Hill, who met at Newcastle University. Tony brought a background in academic publishing and product design; Tom brought a double first and a deep talent for software architecture.
Their first major product, Franchise 360, launched in 2007 as one of the first fully online franchise management systems. It became a trusted name across the UK and beyond, used by franchise networks of all sizes — from emerging brands to established national operations. Over 40 networks rely on it today.
Why we built Jobs360
After years working with franchise networks, we noticed something. Jobs-based franchises — window cleaning, lawn care, pest control, drain services, mobile car valeting — all share remarkably similar needs. They schedule jobs. They send people to customer locations. They need to track what happened and report on revenue.
But the software they were using was either too generic (built for single businesses, not franchise networks) or too complex (enterprise tools designed for IT departments, not tradespeople).
Jobs360 is our answer. A modern, purpose-built platform for jobs-based franchise networks. No bloat. No complexity. Just the tools franchisors, franchisees, and field operatives actually need — including offline capability for teams working where there's no signal.

Tony Johnston
Product Director & Co-founder
Graduate of Leicester and Newcastle universities with a background in academic publishing and over 20 years in the IT sector. Tony leads product direction and customer relationships, and has spent two decades understanding what franchise networks actually need from their software.
Tom Hill
Technical Director & Co-founder
Double first from Newcastle University. Tom designed the original GRAD framework that powered Franchise 360 and now leads the development of Jobs360's modern architecture. His focus: making software that's powerful under the hood but simple on the surface.
Behind Tony and Tom is a development team based in Newcastle, selected for technical excellence and a shared belief that software should make people's working lives easier, not harder.
Our journey
2005 — FranchiseAir founded
Tony and Tom start building business software in Newcastle. First products include compliance management systems for ISO certification.
2007 — Franchise 360 launches
One of the first fully online franchise management platforms. It becomes a trusted name across UK franchise networks, now used by over 40 networks of all sizes.
2014 — Class management speciality
Franchise 360 expands with dedicated class management capabilities, broadening our expertise across franchise sectors.
2012 — FranPulse partnership
A sister product to Franchise 360, distributed through The Franchising Centre — extending our reach across the UK franchise community.
2015 — Franchise 360 v2
A major rebuild with a modern interface and new framework under the hood. A step-change in usability and performance for our customers.
2024 — Next-generation technology begins
Work starts on a completely new technology platform for the Franchise 360 family. A ground-up rebuild using modern cloud-native architecture.
2026 — Jobs360 launches
The first product built on our new platform. Everything we've learned about franchise management, purpose-built for jobs-based franchises. International from day one. Offline-capable. And designed so that anyone can use it.
